  Trying to compress a QT w/ Apple ProRes codec to a smaller QT w/ DVCProHD codec

  Hello! I am trying to turn a 90 minute, 57GB QuickTime w/ Apple ProRes codec into a QT with DVCProHD codec that is less than 8GB. Does anyone have any compression recommendations? I am using Apple Compressor, and have worked with tweaking the DVCProHD droplet some, but can’t quite find a solution.

  DVCProHD datarates are pretty much locked in. It’s the nature of the codec.

  Generally I think it’s better to approach issues by posting what your goal is because DVCProHD is an older codec. I can’t see a reason for using it unless you’re going to DVCProHD tape or using it in an old NLE that can’t handle modern codecs.
