How can I rip a DVD and maintain good quality?
Hi there,
I’ve just learned about Handbrake (thanks Craig!!) and need to rip a DVD and put its contents into a FCP timeline. I used Handbrake to rip and the files are MP4 and MPV. When I convert the clips through MPEG Streamclip to Qucktime (DVCPRO HD 720p60) to match the existing footage in the timeline, the DVD material looks bad. I’ve lost the crispness of the fonts in the titles, etc.
Did I miss a setting in Handbrake, or is this as good as it gets?
Any help is greatly appreciated. I’m new to compression settings and ripping DVDs.
Thanks!
I’m working on a MacBook Pro; 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor; 8GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Memory: FCP 7.
