I am using Adobe Media Encoder on Windows to encode MPEG2 videos.

The encoder does not give a setting for either “I Frames” or “Keyframes” but rather M and N Frame controls along with Closed GOP settings.

I would think settings of M Frames: 1, N Frames: 1, Closed GOP every: 1 would result in an all I-Frame encoding?

IIRC, M=P frame, and N=B frame. So you probably want both to be 0.

There is no option for 0.

Based on what I’ve read if I set my closed GOP to 1 that is the same as closing the GOP every frame which should result in an all I-Frame video…

Are there any tools out there to that can analyze a video and tell me what kind of frame structure it has?
