changing the import – still footage – base 30 to 25
Hi guys. I was wondering. In the preferences, when you import still images, they’re all imported with a duration based on 30fps. I’m in the UK and here the base is 25fps. Is there a way to change the “base 30” to 25?

if u import any footage by default after effects takes them as 30fps
so if u want to change 30fps to 25, you should select the footage in project window right click on that footage you will get Interpret Footage
in that click on Main, a window is opened than in Assume this frame rate

Select Edit>Preferences and then choose Import. In the dialog window, look for Sequence Footage, change the number from 30 (AE’s default) to 25.

This does not work for still images, such as .PSDs or .JPGs, since they inherently don’t have a timecode. How do you change the base timecode for still images?

I apologize, I also forgot to mention: when I go to “interpret footage” for any still image, the top half of the dialog box (Alpha and Frame Rate) are greyed out, therefore not allowing me to conform the frame rate to something else. How do I get this to let me change it?

I know this is an old post but I ran into this and didn’t see the correct answer anywhere.
You can change the default base in Project Settings (not preferences) under the Time Display Style tab.
Set it to 25 in there and it fixes the issue.
