  Jagged edges in my video!

  Hello, all!
  MSDesign here, and I’m new to the creative cow scene… so I’m sorry if I sound like a n00b.

  1. After capturing my video, I noticed that there were jagged edges in my video (i.e. at the edge of objects in the scene). Is there any way to fix this in Adobe After Effects?
  – If this is already covered, please point me in the direction of the correct forum, thanks.-

  2. I would like to know what is the most effective method of color correction in AE. Most of the methods I’ve found are quite tedious.

  3. Someone please tell me the importance of a “Cineon Sequence”!

  In the immortal words of Tom Cruise, “Help me, help you.” What did you capture with? fps, interlaced? resolution, bitrate, chrominance, alpha, etc…?

  Many people use Color Finesse because it doesn’t have the 8bpc bottleneck a lot of the cheap solutions use.

  Cineon sequences are individual images that use log based luminance to store color in 32bpc, good enough for working with film based 35mm color correction.

  FPS: 24

  I/P: Progressive

  Capture software: Final Cut Pro

  Resolution: 720×480

  Sorry for sounding soo n00bish, but I have no Idea of the chrominance or alpha… maybe you could show me how to check that? Thanks!!

  I did hear something about color Finesse, but not much. I will definately check that out!!

  I have jagged edges on my video.
  I shot with the Panasonic HPX500, P2 Card. NTSC 720×480 progressive.
  I open the xml footage in After Effects CS4 and there are jagged edges on diagonal lines in the video.
  I know the footage is good, becauase I also have Premiere Pro CS3, it handles the same footage great. Looks fine.
  Whats up with After Effects? Why would it do this? I mave checked my composition settings, can’t find anythin amiss.

  Please help.

  make sure AE has interpret footage set correctly, pulldown, interlaced off, etc. and the preview aspect correction button in the comp is turned off.
