  how 2 get 2 hours of footage on DVD

  I’m going to shoot and edit a 4 hour presentation tha the client would like to sell. I’ll edit in on Final Cut Pro. I see in compressor a setting for 120 minutes best quality. Will this allow me to burn a high quality DVD with 2 hours of the presentation? Any other suggestions?

  Hi Greg,

  Yes, it will. Be aware that different compression software is able to create better end results. And it’s at lower bitrates where these differences really show.

  Bitvice is worth a look, or if you’ve got a couple of grand burning a hole in your pocket, check out Cinemacraft’s encoder.

  Do a search for bitrate calculators and this will help you figure out how much space to allocate to your encoded elements. Also, remember that however you encode your video, you will also want to encode your audio to AC3 to get the most on your disc. Compressor (with a few tweaks) works fine for this.
