I was testing out text animation presents and found one that I like. Except that I want it to happens faster. Is it possible to make adjustments to the animation presents, how and where do you do that. Also I applied present to some text on a project I stared a few days ago and did not undo an applying of a text preset. Now I can not figure out how to remove it?

    Thanks

My understanding is that the Text Presets just apply various Animators to the text layer, so you should be able to edit the results of a preset by modifying the animators added there, adding new ones, or removing ones that are there (depending on what you want to do). Similarly, you could effectively remove the preset from a layer by deleting all the animators.

Some presets may also add effects, which you could modify/remove through the effects panel.

if you select the text layer with the preset and hit the ‘u’ key, you’ll see the any of the properties that are key framed. you can adjust those to change the timings of any of those animated properties.

if you wanted to remove or hide any of the animated text properties, twirl down the text layer’s properties, the the properties under ‘text’. you should see the extra animated properties that were created by the preset. you can select any of those and delete them, or simply hide them by clicking the eyeball icon for that preset property.

also note that you can add multiple presets to a text layer to create new effects, or combine an animate in preset and, further down the timeline, and animate out preset.

as you start understanding how the presets work, you can start making your own text animations fairly easily… all the text animation properties can be added by selecting a text layer, then choose animation>animate text from the menu and a whole list of properties will be available for you to select and build your own effects.

Select the layer, hit ‘u’ to reveal all animated properties, select them all, then hold down alt (or option on a Mac), and drag the end or beginning points to scale them in time proportionately.

Or you can just precompose the text layer(s), moving all attributes to the new comp, right click the precomp, and choose Time—>Enable Time Remapping. Now add a keyframe at the end of the animation and drag it to the left to speed the animation as you want.

Thanks, i would not have thought to pre comp and then time remapping. it works good if you are only applying one preset.
