using a Mac, I edited a music video in and exported from Adobe Premiere, then exported from Adobe After Effects to convert it to .avi format.

unfortunately, to upload the video onto a website, it must be under 100 MB – but the file is around 540 MB.

    how can I compress this?

If you’ve got the final edit in Premiere Pro, you can use Adobe Media Encoder to make a .WMV file. For download, use 2-pass VBR. How long is the video? 50 MB should be enough for decent quality if it isn’t too long.

is there any way to do this using Adobe After Effects? Because I’m having trouble finding the Media Encoder for Mac anywhere.

Ideally you need one of the following applications to produce a decent quality compressed version – AfterEffects won’t do the job for you.

    Sorenson Squeeze
    PopWire Compression master
    Autodesk cleaner
    Apple Compressor
    FFMPEG

    DL
