  • Help! Extracting avi or .mov via Cinematize for SIGGRAPH

    Greetings.

Mac os 10 g4 and yes you heard it, imovie.

People are extracting media from dvd via cinematize and posting it for me as an avi and qt. The qt plays back jittery (audio and vid slippage), the avi is ok,but I’m unclear as to it’s usefulness as it is considered a “wrapper”….

I am needing to import this extraction off of the dvd via cinematize into imovie to put a slate on the media and then export this to upolad for the SIGGRAPH online submission. I will also be creating a dvd from the media extracted via cinematize. then re-export?

SIGGRAPH onlline specs are: Video resolution only please; use .mov, .avi, .qt or
.mpeg format only. 200MB total size or less please

I tested re-exporting the avi as a QT and it seems fine but I am very interested in getting to the bottom of this…

    1. can I use the avi media to bring into imovie and then re-export?

    2. what compression should we be using vis the exration in cinematize?

    3. what compresion should I be useing when I export the media for the online submission?

    4. any other thoughts/suggestions

    Thansk, Celeste
