Hey folks, I’ve run into an odd problem with Varanois Fracture.

I’m trying to create a scene where an object shatters and the inside faces have a luminance material. The problem I have is that the material applied to the inside faces shines through the outside faces even before the object is shattered. Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong? Thanks!

doesn’t do that here, what version of C4D? what renderer? GI I assume with a luminant texture…
Are you seeing ‘leaking’ on the first frame or just once it starts to fall?

Using C4D r20, Standard renderer. You’re right, luminant texture and they shine through on the first frame. Only in the viewer though.

When I render a preview within C4D the material doesn’t shine through. I’ve been trying to send this file to Element 3D in After Effects and I noticed that it displays the same issue as the C4D Viewer with the luminant texture shining through.

not here as I say but that’s just a simple test. Perhaps your geometry ends up past some limit for the viewport with that material setup. Can’t speak to AE.
