Can’t move object items (newbie)
Hi, all!
I have a good experience with Blender, but I’m a total newbie with Cinema 4D.
I’ve created a cube with a few subdivisions (X, Y and Z axis) and made it editable. Now I can select points and edges to create a house’s roof but I can’t move them! How come?

P.S : By the way, can I add an attachment to a post?

Here I created an editable cube and selected two points on the upper left corner. I then grabbed the X-axis arrowhead and dragged it to move them. The same could be done with edges or polygons. Can you not do the same? And are you starting from a new project with default settings?
You can upload images and files by clicking on the last two icons in the reply box. Hover your cursor over them to see the functions.
However, rather than going through the upload dialogue that appears after clicking one of the icons, the easiest way is to simply drag the image or file into the Message window and the upload will be done automatically. When you click on “Preview Post” you’ll see the image or the zip that has been created for the file.

Thanks for your answer, but I’m still stuck: I can move the arrows, but not the points!
Just in case, I have attached the file here; it was created with Prime R19, and I have certainly missed a few parameters…

When I open your project this is what I see. You have “Enable Axis Modification” selected (see arrow), which is used for moving the axis of an object, not for moving points.
Click it again to disable it (or use shortcuts L, or Tab). Then select your points (which will be highlighted when selected) and move them.

Silly me. I’m still very unfamilliar with the GUI, that’s what happened.

You are very welcome, Thierry. Glad I could help. With shortcuts for just about everything it’s easy to inadvertently select or enable something you don’t need or want. Have fun with C4D.
