Is it possible to hide the Emitter Effector bounding box in the viewport for Hardware Renders?

    I’m running C4D R18

    Many Thanks. 🙂

Just like any object, you can hide it in the viewport by clicking on the “traffic light” for the editor to set it off (red)

or by setting “Visible in Editor” in the Basic attributes to “Off”

You can also deselect “Visible” in the Falloff settings

☺ Thanks Jim but they don’t seem to be it.

The problem I’m having is when I do a Hardware Render for a client to sign off,
I managed to turn off all the Splines, Anchors and things,

but when I switch the traffic lights button on the Emitter to Red or the ‘Hide in Viewport button’ to off,
it turns of the objects from the Emitter as well?

Sorry if I’m not making any sense.

    Many Thanks

    Adam.

You are making perfect sense. I had completely overlooked where you said “Hardware Render” in your initial post, and after checking that output myself I find that you are entirely correct. Unfortunately, since I never use the hardware renderer, I have never come across this issue before and don’t have a solution for it.

I couldn’t find much in the help section, but may I ask why you are using Hardware renderer? If you are simply trying to send a client a render sample why not use Physical or Standard?

Frankly, since the Hardware OpenGL renderer seems to output what the viewport is showing before a normal render I am at a loss to understand its use. Hopefully one of the C4D experts can chime in with some more insight.

I’m sorry if I added to your confusion.

As a workaround I’d have the emitter emit nulls (or whatever you like) and check the “show objects” box in the particle tab. Hide the emitter (turn traffic lights red) and set the traffic lights for the object being emitted to green.
