  Pixel sorting effect in C4D

  Hi all,

  I’m quite new to Cinema 4D, still discovering the software. I was looking around on twitter and found these Beeple stuffs :

  I’ve tried all day to recreate that sorting effect, but i couldn’t figure it out. I’ve tried first using a Mograph cloner and cubes, but it’s way too heavy on calculation, and the objects don’t morph with the figure like it is in the images/video.
  Then i’ve tried to use HAIRS on my figure, but i couldn’t find a way to get that look..
  Can anyone help me with this? Or give me some links that might help me?

  He apparently uses animated displacement maps created in AE using Pixel Sorter.

  You might try contacting the author and see if he can give you more information about his technique.
