Hi I’m trying to get a tumble weed to ‘tumble’ in the wind. Problem is I can’t get it to roll naturally. How does one go about rolling an irregular shaped object to roll on a service. Roll-it plugin does not work with R11-14 . I can only get a particle emitter to blow the weed across the floor plane, no rolling. Ideas?

what version of C4D do you have (and what package)? It’s very possible with Dynamics but it’s also possible with xpresso

depending on how detailed your tumbleweed is (geometry or texture based) you might want to use a simple thing like in the example file (but fitted to your tumbleweed) as a proxy for quicker calculation. Here is a simple test with a Wind object pushing a “tumbleweed” with enough friction in the ground and tumbler to make it roll instead of slide and with Rotational Mass set low enough it can do that easily.

this is what I mean by proxy

Thank you soo much! I’ll have a go at it. I think it’s exactly what I needed. So kind of you to do this.
