  Why the HDV movies that I made doesn’t work in the FCP

  I’ve made hdv movies in AE seting the compression to HDV-1080i60, But when I load it in FCP’s HDV project, it doesn’t work ok. It plays like still frames jumping a lot of them. Where is my mistake? Could anyone help-me? I’ll appreciate it very much.. I’m in a middle of this project and I must to finish it soon.

  Could be tons of things. 1st off is your hard drive fast enough for the footage? Also, with FCP and fast flickering frames sometimes you just need to trash your preferences….

  Thank Joe for your response, But I solved the problem using the compressor, I recompressed the footage, so it’s working now. I have a power mac quadcore 3.0ghz with 10 gb of ram. So I don’t think that it’s a hadware problem if the problem were with my hard drive I don’t think that the other footage that I’ve captured from my HDV video cam would play as well as they play. The problem is the compression in FCP with footage that comes from AE.

  I’m working with some green screen footage shot with the Cannon HV30 (HDV-1080i60).
  Capture footage to FCP HDV-1080i60.
  I made my edits within FCP.
  Exported a HVD-1080i60.mov
  Imported into AE.
  Chroma keyed within AE.
  Output the final to a HDV-1080i60.mov

  I’m having the same jitter problems that are being described.

  If the footage you imported into AE is any kind of the following — Native HDV, MPEG1, MPEG2, mp4, m2t, H.261 or H.264 — you need to convert it to a different codec.

  Do you have a codec you would recommend? Or more importantly a post you would recommend to educate myself further.

  Thanks for your help Dave. I’m going to give this Codec a shot.

  With plug-ins like Automatic Duck and FCP2AE; Do I get a better quality or just expediency?

  On a side note… I kind of feel as though I’m chatting with a Superstar. In all seriousness, I’ve read and been helped or influenced by hundreds of your post. I really appreciate your time and contributions to The Cow.
