    Hi Everyone

I have been asked to help create and texture a simple 3D model that uses this square pattern.

Looking at it, I would probably create a triangle and extrude it, duplicate, rotate and aligned each to give an even distribution.

Would this be correct? My level of skill in C4D is still relatively new

    Thanks a lot

I would create a plane object and make it editable. Then go into polygon mode and select all polygons. Run the “extrude inner” function with preserve groups unchecked. That will give you the center polygons and they will be selected. Then just drag them down in the Y direction. Delete the plane object’s phong tag so you can see the sharp angles created.

Then use a boolean object to cut out the desired shape.

Yes, you’re right. Triangle, extrude, cloners, and bolean. No more.

Here’s the c4d model. But it’s an easy one and it’s so rewarding to make it by yourself. You should try.
