  How do I… Twist thread

  Hi Cow folks,

  I’m trying to make this thread twist kinda like this:

  I can texture the thread easily enough (its not flat like the image, just standard thread).
  Im fairly experienced with C4D but I don’t have heaps of time to this turnaround, so any ideas would be awesome!

  Yeah, the twist deformer will do a nice job of twisting it simply and the reeper plugin works great for making normal rope but I need the animation of each thread being wound together.
  The ends need to be quite far apart as though they are being weaved.

  It doesn’t sound that hard but I can’t seem to make it work properly!
  Im sure it must have been done heaps of times!

  here’s a quick test – not happy with the first twisting but it might be possible to smooth it with the falloff of the twist

  Oooh! That’s pretty close! It was kinda what I was trying to do but much closer.
