  • Sculpting with hard edges – smoothing effect?

I haven’t used Cinema 4D in a while, but I’m trying to sculpt a barricade model I made real quick to give it some detail. When I subdivide, it causes the edges to smooth, but I would like to make them stay the same. Is that possible in sculpting? Or have I screwed myself?
    I’ll post an example.

Again, I’m sorry because I’m not that great a sculpting, so please try if you can explain this to a beginner.

Sculpting subdivision is just like Subdivision Surface modeling. You can prevent … or minimize at least … the smoothing by adding some edge loops close to the edges you want to be sharp. Or, since you’re going to have a high poly object anyway for sculpting, you could use the regular subdivide command before sculpting.
