    My thinking is Sand Man from Spiderman. He has some support but falls apart at some points, then rebuilds, etc. I want to know if there’s a way in Cinema 4d and Thrausi to give these “pieces” some structure, threshold, or tolerance that keeps it sort of together before falling apart.

    I think you would want to use x-particles for that. You could have objects or timings where the particles fall from their spawn geometry and hit the ground then after a moment become attracted to the base geometry again and rebuild. There are lots of clever particle rigs you can build with x-particles. and they can render really high particle amounts
