  • Change color of clipping mask area in viewport in R15?

Posted by Ben Fallin on September 17, 2014 at 2:41 pm

I want to change the color within my viewport of the clipping mask to something much more noticeable than the dark grey it is now. I have film format on so I can see action/title safe but that doesn’t change the clipping mask as some have implied it should. If I’m not describing this correctly I’ve uploaded a screenshot to imgur at https://i.imgur.com/jyTOatF.png I’m attempting to change the dark grey to something like lime green/bright orange/etc. Thanks.

Figured it out. Just in case anyone ever wants to know. On viewport toolbar go Options–>Configure (or Configure All)–>Change border color/opacity of tinted border.

You can also use the Shift-V shortcut in an editor view to access the view configuration settings.

Thanks for this, great tip! Always wanted to clean up the way I saw the crop in my preview! Cheers.
