    Slight glitch,
I am working with the puppet tool extensively for the first time. My original idea was to take a 2D character, made of several different pieces in photoshop, bring him into after effects and animate with the puppet tool. First to animate the composition containing all of the pieces, then to fine tune it even more by applying a puppet tool to each individual piece inside that composition. I found that after doing this, the pieces begin to poke out of the puppet mask and in different areas. Either way, I find that its probably not meant to do this. Not realizing it, I’ve come back to see that there are a few tiny pieces floating around from my original mistake, any idea how to fine tune it this way, or to fix it once it’s been fudged up? Appreciate any help

    Thanks

You could try extending the mesh. Sometimes, when the mesh does not encompass the whole image/photo/whatever; little bits and pixels don’t conform with the rest of the puppet pins. Check out the AE helpfile to see how to do this.
