    Hi!

I have a flower made in photoshop with transparent background. I want to insert this flower into cinema4d for bending it or manipulating and animating it. I want the background to be transparent. How do I do this?

I tried to export the paths to illustrator and also open the psd file in illustrator and saving them as illustrator 8 file but all I get is a big square equal to the filesize.

I want to just import the flower. not the background or anything else. how do I do this?

    thanks!

if it does have an alpha channel, you can use the psd file in the Color and the Alpha channels of the material and put that on a plane object. If you are looking for an object with ‘thickness’, you can bring in a path that defines the shape of your flower and extrude it, if that’s what you were trying when you got the big square I’d have to see the file to see what’s in it.

your psd file is good, you just need to go to the Material’s Basic tab and check Alpha to enable it – then you will be able to use the psd file in the Alpha tab that appears
