I’m pulling my hair out here trying to figure out why when I bring over a C4D project into AE using Cineware it’s 1-frame short.

I have an image sequence that’s 115 frames long.

I have a background object that has the entire 115 frames on it, and it shows all 115 frames as it should.

I import that same 115 sequence into AE and it shows all 115 frames.

However, when I import the same C4D project into AE, it’s 1 frame short.

Everything is 24fps. I’ve tripled checked that.

Notice that the Image Sequence in AE is 4:19

Now notice that the C4D file is only showing 4:18

However, in C4D, the last frame is correct, the pink sticky note should be on the LH edge of the frame. So C4D is correct.

    Any ideas?

I’ll tell you what everyone else is thinking – it’s hard to tell without seeing the project files side by side. I know, NDAs, privacy, etc, but maybe you could outline the exact project settings for both files in as much detail as you can.

    It’s VERY easy to reproduce.

All you need is an image sequence.
In C4D, make a background object, and then create a material that uses the image sequence and apply it to the background object.

Next, go into AE and import the image sequence.
Make sure it’s the same frame rate as the C4D file (mine is 24fps)
    Put that in a comp.
Next, import the C4D project into AE and put that in the comp.

You’ll see the C4D file is 1 frame short.
