  Black & white poster design (high contrast / line drawing)

  Gentlemen!

  I’ve been enjoying learning a bit of C4D for motion graphic video stuff, but have a bit of a different question.

  I’m looking to make a simple poster, with block text, and mainly the outline / skeleton of the text to then export to photo shop.

  I know I will have to change my output setting resolution for scale, but does anybody have any tips on how to just export skeletal structure / have an idea of what I’m going for?

  I will be printing from home or photocopying, so I’m looking to avoid any shading shadows. Just plain block text, clean with a high contrast.

  Any tips much appreciated!

  do you want to have the objects with shape only-no shading or by structure do you mean the edges (polys etc) should be visible? (or both?)

  Just the object shape with no shading you can get with luminant textures (which kills the shading) to see edges you need Sketch and Toon (or Cel Shader)

  thanks for the response!

  I’m not exactly sure how to describe what I’m going for.

  Imagine a simple text block (mo text or whatever), a mat white.
  The background would also be white, but there would be either black trim of a few pixels around every edge (to show the shapes) or even the sides of the text would be black.

  My main goal is to have legible, block text, with very little black (easier on ink)and no gradient / color shading.

  Sort of like the Metallica logo, but without the black background:

  you can make an exact duplicate of the Metallica thing (with White background and white text with black lines) with Sketch and Toon if you have it otherwise you can get close (with a much gentler learning curve with the Cel Renderer).
