  • Wrapping cloth around a cube for bed sheets?

Posted by Tim Fisher on August 28, 2012 at 3:10 am

Okay so I am looking to create sort of a hospital bed, and I want to use cloth to make it look like bed sheets are tightly wrapped around a filleted cube.

I created a plane, but the cloth object on it, and then the square had the collider on it.

I was using the “relax” button to mess around with it, but the cloth always drapes and hangs down.

Is there any way to tighten it all up and make it completely wrap around the cube, sort of like a pillow?

maybe a softbody with inflation is better than trying to make cloth stretch around something (which might be done with belts). Is this just a ‘made bed’ and you don’t need to remove the sheets in an animation?

Actually I meant to mention in there that I was pretty much going for a comforter.

What I ended up doing was placing a cube inside of a cube, then giving the one on the inside the collider tag, and the one on the outside the cloth tag. Dress-o-matic wrapped it around nicely, then I just applied a texture with a displacement map for wrinkles.

    Worked out quite nicely.
