Still Images Become Blurry When Uploaded To Facebook
Posted by Simon Matthews on July 30, 2012 at 9:32 amWhen I render still images in C4D they appear sharp in explorer but become blurry when uploaded to Facebook. I would put it down to a problem with Facebook, but images that I produce in other applications, such as After Effects, remain sharp when uploaded to Facebook. Is there a fix for this?

July 31, 2012 at 9:05 amI’ve tried several different file formats, including TIFF, JPEG and PSD. Anti-aliasing is set to best (still image). GI and AO are set to on. As I say, the images look sharp when viewed in explorer or software such as Photoshop. It’s only when I upload them to Facebook do they lose quality, whilst my other images made in After Effects or Photoshop look sharp in Facebook.

May 13, 2013 at 1:22 amOthers are having the same problem, some think FB has changed their compression plugin. Although photos do not seem to be affected. I found the Facebook high/low quality selection only using low and I have sent fault to FB.

May 13, 2013 at 8:38 amOk. I haven’t uploaded any Cinema 4D still images to Facebook for quite a while now so I didn’t really know if the problem was still occurring. I just viewed some of my uploads from a while back and they don’t seem as bad as I had thought, though I did notice that they looked pixelated in parts and not as sharp as the original images. Hope you get to the bottom of this! Thanks 🙂
