  control multiple random layers with one slider?

  Sorry, the subject title isn’t well phrased. I’m looking to do several things:

  I need to randomly position several hundred numbers throughout AE 3D space. This I think I’m okay with, as I’m using the “3D layer distributor” script. Although, if someone can recommend a better script, with active controls within AE (as opposed to having to edit the actual script) I’d be very happy.

  What I can’t figure out, is an efficient way to animate ALL the numbers. Essentially I want them all to move from one unified position, to their respective random places in the 3D environment. I thought about a slider control, but that just makes them move all to the same place. What expression, or other tool, do I need to have one control to add random positions to many layers?

  Thanks, and that’s what I’m already doing. But from a production standpoint, this just isn’t cutting it. This project will be evolving in the coming weeks, and I’ll need to have the hundreds of numbers move back together and explode apart many more times in other scenes. So, I really need a more “elegant” way to control all of them from a single source. Just the process of scrolling and selecting all the keyframes each time I want to change a curve, becomes a nightmare.

  Anyone know of a more automated approach?
