  • problem polyon with alpha channel enabled material reflects HDRI

    Greetings,

I set up a polygon plane with an alpha material to crate some perforated metal. The holes the alpha channel creates in the plane reflect the HDRI I have on a sky object, it also does it with the HDRI on a sphere.

I have a composting tag on the sky/sphere and checked off “not seen by camera”

I have tried to trouble shoot it with limited success.

-turned up/down ray depth and/or ray threshold

-turned off transparency and/or “seen by rays” in composite tag of sky/sphere

-excluded the plane in the composite tag of sky/sphere

I have seen other people talking about this problem, but no acceptable solution. Has anyone figured out a good solution to this?

    Hi Roy,

I tried this out and turning off ‘Seen by transparency’ on the HRDI sphere seems to solve the problem.

So it does! Thanks. It’s funny because I swear I tried that. Hmmm oh well thanks again.

    Thank you

    Roy
