  Using a Depth effect and a ReelSmart Motion Blur effect together in AE

  I know this is an AE question, but the only people that would deal with this would be 3D animators going from a 3D program to AE for final compositing and effects work.

  I’m making a Depth pass and using Lens Blur in AE.

  I’m making a Vector pass and using RSMB Vector to create motion blur inside AE.

  I would appreciate any tips on making the two work best together. Because obviously when you apply one of the effects, you slightly screw up the next effect. For instance, if I do Lens Blur first, my Vector pass image sequence no longer resembles the current movie. The current movie is blurred in some areas, but my vector pass is sharp all over.

  I’m going to do some tests, but would be happy to hear how others have worked out this type of potential issue. Who knows, maybe if either effect isn’t crazy cranked up, it doesn’t really matter how you use them.
