  • Rendering textures as solid colors without Sketch and Toon

Posted by Ryan Paterson on April 23, 2011 at 4:49 pm

I have some text extruded via Sweep Nurbs and I want everything to be rendered as a solid color ie) not showing any shadows, reflections, or gradation from lighting at all. I achieved the effect with Sketch and Toon but the render times are quite long, which I thought odd because I am essentially trying to simplify the image.

Fiddled around with texture settings and the render settings but nothing seems to be working. Does anyone have any ideas? And if Sketch and Toon is indeed required are there any tips for keeping the render times down? Thanks!

All’s you have to do is turn off the color channel and use the luminance channel instead.

also you can use the composting tag and set the “matte object” option on, setting a color of your choosing.
