Activity Forums Maxon Cinema 4D spline with random movement

This may be a simple answer, but I’m new to C4D.

I’m growing along a spline with sweep nurbs. How would I go about giving each of the points in the spline a random movement. Sort of like a waving tentacle.

I’ve tried messing around with the vibrate tag with no avail.

    Thank you.

Try the Formula deformer as a child of the spline. Or maybe the wind deformer.

You could also try point level animation and animate some of the points on the spline?

Another option would be to use a MoGraph random effector in deformer mode, with the effector mode set to noise or turbulence.

Thanks, those are both working nicely.
How would I keep the root of the spline from being affected?

You can use falloff if you’re using the random effector method.
