I’ve downloaded a plugin called ePMV (Embedded Python Molecular Viewer) which supposedly allows you to download molecule models from the pdb database directly into Cinema 4D, and work with them. It’s a Python plugin. I followed the installation instructions (which were confusing, but I think I got them right), but the plugin does not show up in the Python plugin menu. If I open the Python Plugin Manager it’s there, but I can’t open it or use it. It turns out that according to the website it only runs in32 bit mode, so it says to start your 3D app in 32 bit mode. I’m running Snow Leopard on the Mac in 64 bit mode, and Cinema 12.032. Is there a way to start Cinema in 32 bit mode so that I can use this plugin?

    thanks,

On the PC Cinema comes with two *.exe files — one 32 bit and one 64 bit. Not sure how it works on the Mac.

Just one application on the Mac. In the Maxon folder, in the resource folder there are a couple of things that say Win32 and Win64, but nothing like that for Mac. So, maybe that means it only runs in 64 bits on the Mac?

no, Mac apps capable of 64 bit can usually be run in 32 by selecting the app and then do a Command-I to get the info window and then check off “Open in 32-bit mode”

Thanks, Brian, that’s a good tip. It didn’t load the plugin, however. I guess I’ll have to contact the developer of the plugin to find out what’s going on. Thanks for your help.
