  • Syntheyes to C4D..Lightwave Scene File Scale???????

    Hello everyone.

Does anyone know what the scale of the imported Lightwave scene file should be?

Everything looks fine in Syntheyes. I can place a box in Syntheyes, and everything is in place, with no slipping. Then I export a lightwave scene file, using Units as Meters, and synch to frame 0. Once in Cinema 4d I open my lightwave scene file but then I am asked what scale to import the scene as. Whether its 1 or 20, this is where the major slippage happens.

Anyone have this problem or know what scale I need to import as? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am using C4D R11.5

Thanks for anyone who can help.

I’m not exactly an expert in this, but I have been dabbling with Syntheyes and C4D for the past week, 3D motion tracking a greenscreen shot to drop a person into a virtual set. I built the 3D set in C4D at a real world scale of around 30′ across and made sure to set the coordinate system on Syntheyes correctly, setting an accurate distance between several of the trackers. I think I had the Lightwave import set to 10.

I grouped the camera and trackers together to be able to move the view in my 3D set where I wanted, and the actress maintained good registration with the 3D set.

    Don’t know if that helps.
