    Morning y’all

I’m a C4D virgin, I wanted to try out a concept where i could turn the “tube” object into a hollow teardrop shaped object, but it’s not working my way.
Tried using “extrude” but it’s not coming out right.

    Anybody out there got suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

If you are set on using the “Tube for some reason try with deformers.
If you place a “Tube” Object in a Null object along with both the Buldge and Taper deformers you should get a tear shape. Be sure the your “Tube” has plenty of subdivisions on the caps and height or nothing good will happen.

Personally I would go with a spline in lathe nurbs for this type of thing.

I’m not really set into the “tube” option, but I figured that was the closest idea that I could have gotten. See, my boss wanted to get a teardrop arrayed radially in 7 parts; each part to be hollowed out.

You got an alternative way to getting a hollowed out teardrop?

ps: another option for me was to take a teardrop pick, get a path out of it using illustrator. From there…ummm……

ok, i dropped the tube into “null object”. How do i work the bulge deformer now?

    Did you try this Jason?

Draw a spline the follows the profile of one half of a tear drop. Drop the spline into a lathe nurbs object.
If you dial back the angle on the lathe nurds to 180 degrees you’ll end up with a teardrop cross section.

ok. never tried it that way. i realize that, for this to work, i’ll have to draw the spline on the XY axis.

Will let you know how the progress goes.

ahh…problem. was not looking forward to the round bottom. The appearance is like you’re a slice from a loaf of bread.
