Okay so I have a bunch of text and my camera flys from one to the next. I know, I know, Original right? Okay I’m wondering since I’m not going to see these texts after I pass them is there anything I can do to increase my render speed?

I use a display tag so that I can turn off visibility of text I don’t want to see until it gets where I want to see it. But I don’t know if that helps or not.

Faster computer is the easy answer but it also depends a lot on the textures – how expensive they are in calculation time, what other pre/post processes you are using (GI is a biggy) – What’s the light setup etc. Need to know more (or see the scene file)

    Thanks for the response.
Well the texture I am using does have a lot of reflections and it is high definition. Scene has eight lights, four groups of text (extruded type with caps) and a reflective floor. I’m not rendering GI.

I am still learning so maybe I am missing something.

I would think my 2.93 octo-quad Mac with NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800 and dual monza exhausts would be able to handle it easily enough…

Should be quick enough, yes. Without knowing more I can’t do anything but guess. Area lights? Reflection with dispersion? Render expensive noises being used? It doesn’t look very complex from that screen shot…
