hi guys, spent the last two days on google without any luck on this so if theres anyone out there that can help it would be sooo much appreciated…

to cut a long story short…

i have a grey sphere on top of a plane, both have reflections set and are obviously reflecting each other, what i want is to be able to render the scene so that the floor is completely transparent and i can only see the reflections of the sphere on its surface, so just to reiterate, we start with two grey objects, a sphere and a floor plane, the final render should show a gre sphere and what appears to be a transparent reflective floor.

so i know this can be done with object buffers but im so sure ive done this before…

    any ideas?

    regards

    james

You can put a composite tag on the floor plane and UNcheck “seen by camera”

hi, thanks for your response, yes, ive tried that but my problem is, i want the floor to be transparent and only show the reflections, not its actual color, but if i turn the transparency down, the reflection disappears. i just want a clean reflection pass with an alpha, if i use multipass and select reflection, its not a clean matte, it looks pretty useless.
