I’m not really sure how to word this (which made it difficult for searching) but I’m guessing it’s pretty straight forward.

I have two requests. I think 1 is simpler than the other:

    Simple:
I have an extruded chevron shape that I want to multiply and arrange around a circle.

    Complex
I have an extruded chevron shape that I want to multiply and arrange around a torus AND take on the rounded nature of the torus.

I’m guessing this would require mograph in some way?

Any input or push in the right direction would be very helpful/greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

You don’t necessarily need MoGraph for the circle. You could use an Array Object or Function>Arrange. But MoGraph does provide many more options.

The second example is a bit trickier. MoGraph has a spline wrap object that let’s you deform an object along a spline, but it doesn’t deform along a surface. But if you want to use the torus (and it wasn’t just a convenient example), you could a Wrap Deformer in spherical mode to deform the chevrons (however you choose to array them).
