    hi all you creative geniuses…

i’m new to displacement maps on c4d

i would like to apply a displacement map to a surface mesh because my final render will be in wireframe…

is there a way to convert my displacement map to become a wireframe mesh ?

    merci beaucoup !!

If you have MoGraph you can use the Displace Object and make it editable. If you don’t have Mograph but your object is planar you can do the same thing with the relief object.

But why do you want to bake the displacement into the mesh?

you are right adam… no need to bake… in my case the solution was to use the mograph displace object… that i found very useful and powerful..

    merci beaucoup…

I myself have had occasions where I would have liked to be able to bake the displacement into the mesh. If a displaced object was close enough to other mesh where there was a possibility of overlap, I would have used this option were it available, so I could see the distance between the objects without waintin for a displacement render.
