    Hi all,
I wouldn’t consider myself a great modeler, but I’m trying to get better. One of the things I’ve run into often is combining two elements into one when they have different point structures. I’m not sure how to approach this. For example, I built the bottom portion of a cartoon house, and wanted to attatch the roof to it. I wanted the whole structure to be 1 piece, so I could put it under a hypernurbs and get clean smoothing. Does anyone have any easy suggestions on combining two pieces into 1 when the point structure is not the same?

You need to have reasonably good topology for HN so I would generally model the object as one piece to begin with. If you haven’t done that it’s usually a question of using a lot of bridge tool, moving points around with the slide tool, and if necessary adding or deleting geometry. Hard to say much more without seeing a scene file or screen shots.
