  • extruding complex ai files in cinema 4d

Posted by Brian Mc devitt on April 30, 2010 at 11:01 am

I realise importing illustrator files into cinema 4d has been posted about and covered 1000 times before, so sorry if this has already been explained.

I don’t have a problem importing simple files, I know about saving as illustrator 8 and connecting the splines etc.

This all works fine for relatively simple shapes but when I try to import a complex path which I have drawn with the pen tool, cinema 4d only extrudes the outlines so the object has no cap or fill just empty space between the extruded paths.

If anyone has any idea how to fix this or what I doing wrong I would appreciate it alot.

    Thankyou

If you can post the *.ai or C4D file I’d be happy to look at it.
