I was wondering if any one has had experience create smoke in c4d version 11.5 or if any on knows of tutorials on this. The application is smoke being generated when a ship enters the atmosphere and once it crashes smoke pouring out of the the ship.
I tried creating the smoke in atmosphere with a particle emmiter along a spline but it didn’t look right. I tried the same thing with the smoke from the crash site

the second part of my question is how to create fire I am clueless

Pyrocluster is actually pretty good for certain kinds of smoke (check included documentation for use). For realistic fire, not so much. You would either need to use alpha-mapped footage or else purchase one of the available fluid simulator plugins.

if i wanted to use alpha matte footage would the way to do that be shoot a luma key with a black background and then take that footage and creat a alpha matte with that

To be honest, the way I would do it would be to buy stock footage. I haven’t tried creating it myself.
