    Hi,
I’m a C4D nube and am trying to rebuild a project in C4D that I started in Maya. It needs scrabble tiles, which in Maya were made by applying a procedural 3D wood texture and then adding a 2D texture (from a PSD file) containing the text for the tile. Each different letter tile had a different material.

An early test render from Maya:

So, how to recreate this in C4D? I’ve got the Banzi wood shader in place, but how to add on top the 2D texture from the PSD file?

Thanks in advance for your help!

You can do it by stacking materials. So create a separate material for each letter, with an alpha, and then drag that material onto your object. The new texture tag should appear to the right of the original texture tag, and the text will appear on top of the Banzi shader.

Enable [viewport menu]>Display>Stacked Textures to see an approximation of the effect in the viewport. One note: the stacked textures mode can be a drain on system resources, so keep on eye on that if things start to get draggy.

    Awesome!
    I’ll give it a try!
    Thanks,
