Does anyone know how to render wireframes with an alpha channel in Cinema 4d 11.5? I’ve used the Cel renderer but cannot render out the object with its own alpha channel separated from the background.

I am not sure that you can. However rendering out an object buffer will give you the mask you need.
Or in your compositing software using the blend mode “Multiply” will remove the white.

Have you tried adding another texture tag to the object with just an alpha of a grid or two or do you want to use the poly-lines? I personally know no way to do poly lines in C4D, maybe Electric Image, or DVGarage’s 3-D Toolkit, the hobbled (plugins) version of EI. I’ve done both of those two methods. Alpha grid from two angles in C4D, and polylines in EI.

You can use BodyPaint to create a bitmap showing the model’s UV outlines and then use that bitmap in an alpha channel.

Use the BodyPaint>Layer>Create UV Mesh Layer command and then save out that layer as a texture.
