Paint brush Bristles
Posted by Shawn Smith on January 31, 2010 at 4:50 pmHello can anyone help me. I’ve been trying to model a paint brush and do not know to model the the bristle part. I’ve been up all night trying. Are there any tutorials or someone that can help me I just bought Cinema 4d and I am new to modeling.

February 1, 2010 at 4:47 pmWould I make the brushes different shapes and sizes in PhotoShop or in Cinema 4D?

February 1, 2010 at 6:24 pmTry to get it as close as you can in cinema.
Do you have a sketch or ref image you are working from that you can share?

February 1, 2010 at 7:26 pmNo basically its 3d text that is script and at the top of the J its suppose to look like the tip of an artist paint brush. You know like the classic tear drop shape. I just want the realism of a art brush mix with the text.

February 1, 2010 at 8:05 pmWell that is a little different then the straight brushes. You want to model the shape (close anyway) then convert the edges to hair guides. Then you will need to use the clone option.
Perhaps I can make another video tomorrow. This approach is far more efficent but takes a little more care.

February 1, 2010 at 8:32 pmI appreciate this Randy so much. I hope you get a chance to make the video. I am so willing to be proficient at 3D modeling and was getting a little discouraged until you helped me out. Thanks for all your help.

https://rootvisuals.blogspot.com/If you are looking for a cartoon look I would just model and texture the brush and use a jiggle deformer to animate it… but thats a whole other thing to do.
