    Hi Guys,

I have 100 balloons in a cloner object. I’m using modynamics to make them float about a bit and not cut through each other with collisions. This is all great.

The problem is I want them all to roughly point towards a target. The mograph target effector only works before you click play, after that the dynamics take over and the effectors don’t have any effect.

Is there any way to do this with mograph 2?

So to sum up my problem…I need balloons to dynamically react to other balloons but still be effected by a target.

    Thanks in advance.

One option is to use the “follow animation” settings in the modynamics tag’s force tab. With a low setting you’ll get a combination of dynamics and effector.

Another option might be to try the particle>rotation effector instead of the mograph>target effector, but I don’t know if that would give the result you’re aiming for (pun intended).

Thanks Adam. I’ll give that a go. One way I found was to use the dynamics to separate any objects that were cutting through each other, then make cloner object editable. Stick the clones into a fracture object and use a target effector. That’s keeps them all in the same position still with mograph control. It’s does mean I can’t use dynamics but i intended to render with vray so need something I can take back into v11.

Sorry I’m rambling, just thought this might trigger some ideas.

Maybe you could cache the dynamics with the mograph cache tag, delete the dynamics tags, and then bring back into R11?

I’ve already tried that as it happens and no joy, the cache doesn’t show in the older version. I am using 10.5 though so maybe that has something to do with it, maybe 11 would see the cache.
    Thanks for your help.
