  • simple objects dangling smoothly on a string

Hey, i hope somebody can help me with my problem within Cinema 4d.
Id like to do an animation with simple objects (like spheres, cubes, pyramids etc) that are hanging on a thin string and dangle around smoothly like there is some wind in the room.
How should i start this? I never really used dynamics in Cinema 4D and hope somebody could help me. I tried around something with Clothilde but never got near my original idea…

    Thank you for taking time,
    greetings

    Sebastian

The easiest way to do this is with spline dynamics which is part of the hair module.

Thanks, your help is greatly appreciated! And it showed me the right direction… now i have a spline between two cubes (one should be the ceiling, the other should dangle around).
How do i get it to react to wind. One cube (or the ceiling) should stay on the same point, the other should dangle around smoothly (as said in the subject 😉 …)
Thank you again for your help!

one simple way is – fix one end of the spline using Fix in the Spline Dynamics tag, attach the cube that swings to the spline with a Align to Spline tag (0 or 100% depending on the splines direction), move the spline with Wind and/or Turbulence Objects – you have to add the Wind/Turbulence objects to the Spline Dynamics tags Forces tab in the Include box.
