  Chain Fence

  Hi
  I was wondering if anyone has created a chain-link fence in C4D. The models for this are a little pricey and I’d like to learn how to do it myself. Can anyone can give me some tips for doing it in 3d as opposed to a 2d texture?. The hard part is to get the links to hook together correctly, then repeat and also have a twisted join at the top.

  I haven’t modeled one, but you should be able to do it by creating a single spline/sweep, mirroring it, and then duplicating it MoGraph or the standard duplicate function. The trick would be twist at the top. I’d try using a twist deformer for that.

  I have been trying to do this with a helix in a sweeps nurb. I’ll try your tip using a mograph.
