    Hi,

I wanted to make a bunch of musical notes fly out of a speaker in a random way.

I thought that the “Thinking Particles – Mulitishape emitter” in the content browser would work.

There are 4 default shapes – cylinder, cube, cone & sphere. I thought I could swap these out with musical notes.

I cannot see any shapes when I render, not even the original ones?

I am a real novice when it comes to particle work. Is there something obvious I am doing wrong? Do I need to change anything in the attributes window or xpresso in order for it to render???

    Cheers,

    Rich

You have to add a “Particle Geometry” object to your scene (Objects>Thinking Particles>Particle Geometry).

    Hi again,

I got the multi shape to emit musical notes thanks to Adam.

I have now added a plane object to my scene to act as a deflector for the particles. The musical notes are flying around a room so I would like them to deflect off the walls rather than go through the walls.

I added a pdeflector node in the xpresso window and assigned my plane to it in the attributes window.

I have no idea what to connect the pdeflector node to in the xpresso window though?????

    Any help would be great.

    Cheers,

    Rich

Use a P Pass node to pass the generated particles to the PDeflector node
