Hi! I need help!! I am new in Cinema 4d. I have got a character quite similar with the primitive figure of cinema 4d, so it has inverse kinematic tags set. But I found weird to animated! Can I fix its feet on the ground somehow so it can knee with its feet steady on the ground or it is better use the rigging method? I am using the inverse kinematic so the figure doesn’t deform, but if you say that the joint tool is better how can I stop from deforming?

Thank you so much for your help!

For a leg, joints with IK is definitly the right way to go. As for your deformation its probably directly related to your mesh, joint position and weighting. Dan has some tutorials on C4Dportal that you should watch. They use his plug ins but there is no reason you can’t apply the knowledge to the mocca tools.

Do you mean Building a Stable Soft IK Leg Rig using Cinema 4D R8 Mocca. If so I can’t find the MimeLegFinal.c4d file and the tutorial “Advanced 1 Setting Up the Leg” and when I click next (on the tutorial page) it goes back instead (but I guess this is a different issue)

Hi another query, I watched the Cactus Dan Tutorials and they are great, but at the moment I can buy his plugins. Is there another good tutorial that uses the already built C4D plugins? And what is the use of the primitive figure in C4D? I mean how can animate it with the IK? Is there a way to move his body (like bent his knees)? I have tried but I had to do a long process and not even good to achieve that (bent his legs, rotate his feet and move the all figure down on the floor).
Thank you so much hope I have been clear.

Ok thank you very much, I will have a look!
But do you know anything about the primitive figure built in cinema 4D? what is the use of it? I mean how can animate it with the IK tags? it seems it doesn’t use bone but ik instead, and I can’t find any tutorial about it.
    Thank you so much
