    Hi everyone

Wondering if you can help. I’ve created an object with a light on it, with the lens flare effect activated and need to be able to isolate the object from the background.

I added a compositing tag to the object, (the light is a child of it) and rendered out including a matte multipass, but unfortunately, the matte hasn’t taken into account the lens effect.

Is there any way around this, or should i always add lens flare on in After Effects?

You can add “lens effects” to the multipass render which will give you the flare on a black background. Then you can multiply it over your object … or not, as you prefer.

    That’s brilliant, thanks Adam
